More than 30 players in the AFL have chopped and changed clubs over the 2020 trade period, but there are some that will drastically affect the AFL Fantasy League next year, particularly in the midfield.
Our experts look at some of the top players to keep your eye on, and hopefully pip from some other players in the AFL Fantasy Draft or if you’re having a bet, then the players below will make handy additions to your AFL Multi Bets.
We’ll be trying to find you the cheapest options at the best points prospects, after crunching the numbers from last year’s AFL Fantasy League.
AFL Fantasy Points 2020 – 1769
Price – $778K
Obviously we have to start with last year’s Brownlow Medal winner, irregardless of price. If you want a dominant midfield, Neale will be your guy to grab. He’s paying the same amount as some of the other hot shot midfielders in the competition, who all round in at lesser Fantasy Points.
However, the problem with Neale is he’ll leave little budget for the rest of your mid, or come at the expense of a weak Forward/Defensive line. Whether his astounding 1769 Fantasy Points are worth it? Well, that’s up to you.
AFL Fantasy Points 2020 – 1417
Price – $652K
Dumont drops in price from Neale by over $120K, but also leaves a gap of around 300 Fantasy Points for the season as well. But, the North Melbourne Midfield Star has been one of the most consistent performers in 2020, and he’s slated for a big 2021. He’s worth the cheaper price, hopefully billing in some high game totals next year.
AFL Fantasy Points 2020 – 1352
Price – $602K
Jack Billings is definitely one of the most worth it at his price point. Rounding in just over $600K for 1352 Fantasy Points is a pretty hot deal for that price. You usually want be aiming at the $550K mark for a prime midfielder if you can, so he’s paying a bit over that – however, he’ll hopefully be clocking up a fair few more Fantasy Points in 2021.
AFL Fantasy Points 2020 – 1304
Jack Viney has narrowly less points than Jack Billings in terms of Fantasy Points for 2020, but is one of Melbourne’s most reliable contributors. The hard-at-it onballer will be eyeing off an eyen bigger 2021, attacking the pre-season free of injury for the first time in his young career. Viney also drops below $600K in terms of price, and is looking to overtake Billings in terms of AFL Fantasy Points next year.
AFL Fantasy Points 2020 – 1162
Price – $594K
Karl Amon is a midfielder you want to pick up for your AFL Fantasy Side in 2021. Just coming into fruition, this key Port midfielder was part of a powerhouse side who were snubbed at the very end of the season. For the points he racked up in 2020, his price is pretty reasonable, and with a huge 2021 campaign on the horizon, you won’t want to miss out.
AFL Fantasy Points 2020 – 0
Price – $209K
Everyone’s wishing that that they grabbed Caleb Serong at this price last year, who is now paying over $600K. You want Angwin in your mid next year, he’s looking like one of the most impressive new draft picks on the horizon and wins plenty of contested ball in the air, also showing great courage at ground level. One for the Roughies.
